"Sing for Joy" - A Success!
The Pender Harbour Choir and the Suncoast Singers performed in
front of a crowd that filled the Raven's Cry Theatre in Sechelt
on November 29, 2009 with a selection of classical favourites,
including pieces by Mozart, Haydn, Faure, Verdi, Vivaldi, Holst, Elgar and Gilbert & Sullivan.
Paula Seward once again demonstrated why she is one of the top
accompanists on the Sunshine Coast. Working on the larger
stage of Raven's Cry required some adjustment for the singers
who started out well and continued to improve throughout the
performance.
SASSPenders,
a self-directed group of 10 women from the Pender Harbour Choir,
performed two contrasting numbers to the delight of the
audience.
The same program was performed by the joint choirs in an earlier
concert on November 27 at the Madeira Park Community Hall.
The intimate setting and exceptional acoustics in the hall was
enjoyed by both choir members and the appreciative audience.
Choir Director Joy McLeod provided very informative
introductions to each of the selections performed during the
concert.
