Joy McLeod - Music Director
 The Pender Harbour Choir welcomed Joy as new Music Director in
January 2008. Since then, she had taken the choir through
a journey into both challenging classical pieces and
entertaining popular choral repertoire that have wowed
appreciate crowds at the Performance Centre in Madeira Park
during the choir's successful Spring and Holiday concerts.
Aside from her role as Music Director for the Pender Harbour
Choir, Joy also directs another mixed choir based in the
Sunshine Coast, called the
Suncoast Singers. Joy's
natural talents combined with her twenty years experience as a
church organist and as a choir director makes her an invaluable
asset to the Pender Harbour Choir.
Joy is relatively new to the Sunshine Coast. She moved
here from Victoria, BC where she directed and accompanied several choirs for mixed,
all-male and all-female voices. Joy completed here
Bachelor Degree at Brandon University School of Music.
Joy is active in the British Columbia music and performing arts scene, serving as Board Member of the BC Choral Federation, representing the lower Sunshine Coast, and as Choral Music Chair of the Sunshine Coast Festival of the Performing Arts.
In spite of her busy schedule directing two choirs, Joy manages
to have time to devote to teaching voice and piano. She
also runs a home-based business selling used printed music.
